Luke in his gospel records Jesus’ teaching about the cost of discipleship. The Flaming Sword Discipleship Ministry inculcates the principles preached by Christ as recorded by the Good Doctor. Love for the Savoir exceeds love for your family, your life, and all selfish ambition. Our disciples understand the commitment needed to follow the Way. “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple” (Luke 14:26, ESV). Those unable to prioritize God, make Him first above all else in the world, cannot enter our discipleship ministry training program (Luke 14:27-28, 33).

Teaching Jesus' millenarian eschatology requires a long-term systematic training plan to apprehend its intended goal--awaken Believers to the Bible’s prophetic timeline. First century apostles, men chosen by Jesus to receive His special revelation, established His church, the Body of Christ, in the world. Christ's Apostles prove themselves capable to lead through criteria they use to select Judas’s replacement (Eph, 4:11; Acts 1:21). The prophetic utterances of New Testament prophets coupled with apostolic teaching establish the Body of Christ’s foundation, strengthening and encouraging early believers (Eph. 4:11; Acts 15:32). Supported by the Lord’s gifted evangelists’, discipleship ministry focuses on believer maturation (Eph 4:11; 21:8). Disciples gifted with combined pastoral and teaching ability shepherd God’s people in eager service to Him (Acts 4:11; 1 Pet. 5:2). The Body of Christ helps disciples mature and attain His fullness using gifts the LORD equips them with, thereby, unifying the church (Eph. 4:12). Paul’s analogy depicts a close-knit ministry team of disciples who create other disciples. This model outlines the plan The Flaming Sword Discipleship Ministry follows. In his letter to the Roman church, Paul explains how to live a sacrificial life, the origin of grace, faith, gifts, service, and the true marks of living a Christ likened life of discipleship (Rom. 12).
