Servant
Who is a Servant?
Servant disciples outgrow selfishness and continue to immerse themselves in biblical study while searching for opportunities to serve God’s kingdom in the world. “Christ Jesus, who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men” (Phili 2:5-7 ESV). During this stage, servants grow eager to affect the ministry’s Great Commission work to make self-replicating disciples. The men serve God, other disciples, and the Church. Servants’ predestined path narrows in scope as Christ carries them toward fulfilling His will for their lives while in the world. Their biggest challenge is staving off impatience born out of their eagerness to serve others.
