Leader
Who is a Leader?
Leaders are self-motivated, organized, disciplined, discerning, reliable disciples, marked by clarity of purpose. “For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined” (Titus 1:7-8 ESV). Leaders know who they are, what they need to do, how to work with teams to get it done, and are results oriented. They set, plan, and schedule tasks to achieve goals. Discipleship leaders emulate the servant leadership Jesus practiced during His ministry. Their biggest challenge is matching a disciple’s giftedness with rewarding tasks to both make progress and stimulate disciple growth.
What they need to learn:
-
How to ask for prayer
-
To view failure as teaching opportunity
-
When to exert authority
